Reserve Champion of the stallion performance test!
Mauro Turfhorst is a black pearl who already attracted a lot of attention at the KWPN Stallionshow in Den Bosch as a three-year-old. During the spring performance test in Ermelo he fulfilled the high expectations. He passed with 84 points and became the reserve champion of the KWPN performance test. He received an 8 for the walk and 8.5 for the other components.
Our stallion will continue his training with our top rider Dinja van Liere. We believe that the stallion in her capable hands has a bright future.
The Stallion Inspection Committee praised Mauro's performance: "The stallion always moves uphill and has a beautiful silhouette. He has a very nice character, is willing to work and is always with his rider. His trot has an uphill tendency, with a beautiful foreleg technique. He always looks for the hand of the rider. In this gait he gives a beautiful, appealing image. In canter he has a nice jump and is again always uphill. The stallion always thinks forward, has great balance and can easily lengthen and shorten his strides. His walk has a clear four beat and a good over-track and he has immediate relaxation."
Mauro Turfhorst received the following marks:
Walk: 8, Trot: 8.5, Canter: 8.5, Soupleness: 8.5, Outline & Balance: 8.5 Rideability and Attitude: 8.5, Ability as a dressage horse: 8.5.
Mauro Turfhorst was bred by Jan Greve from Haaksbergen. Last year the stallion was selected for the performance test. At the stallionshow he was one of the most expensive stallions sold through the KSS auction. The black stallion is by the Grand Prix stallion GLOCK's Zonik, who with Edward Gal was three times Dutch champion in the Big Tour and won team silver at the European Championships in Rotterdam.
Mauro's dam is Hidaylia. She is a ster mare by Negro (Inter II under Anne van Olst) out of the voorlopige keur mare Daylia by Scandic (Grand Prix under Patrik Kittel). Then follows in the pedigree Gribaldi (Grand Prix under Edward Gal) and Nimmerdor (Grand Prix jumping under Albert Voorn). In short, five top sport stallions in a row who guarantee the rock-solid bloodline.
Mauro Turfhorst is out of the famous performance- and predicate-rich Daula-damline (mare line 31, breeding family 20). His dam is the elegant, long-lined Negro-mare Hidaylia (1.71m).
From the direct dam line descend the Small Tour mare Vivalia (Biotop), the Grand Prix mare Cavalia (Sir Donnerhall I), the KWPN approved stallions Farmer (Voltaire), Jimtown (Darco) and Pardon (Weyden).
Furthermore, the KWPN approved stallions Majesteit (s. Ishan xx), For Gribaldi (s. Gribaldi), Safarie (s. Farn), and the Grand Prix stallion Hierarch (s. Cocktail) descend from Mauro Turfhorst's mare line. In addition, the stallions Janeiro Platinum (s. Sezuan), approved by DWB and Old., Gershwin (s. Vivaldi), AES approved and Inter I active, Norton L (s. Nimmerdor), ggk in Westphalia, Jazzman (s. Jazz), approved in Oldenburg, and Caratino Z (s. Calvaro Z) approved in Russia also come from this line.
Many sport horses also come from the famous Daula lineage. Eight horses are Grand Prix registered and four have reached the highest level in jumping. Over 20 horses are performing or were at Inter I level.
