Outstanding dressage genetics
Friederike Kampmeyer: “Taurus is smart and uncomplicated. He has everything you want in a dressage horse.”
Taurus is a grandson of the legendary Totilas and was a celebrated premium stallion at the Westphalian stallion selection in 2019. During the stallion selection he made a great impression with his self-carriage, tact, uphill canter and wide walk. Taurus received a 9 for his walk at the 50-day Hengstleistungsprüfung in Adelheidsdorf, in which he finished with a good overall result.
A complete and functional horse with three above-average basic gaits, a good selfcarrying hind leg, good use of the body and a strong upper-line. Characteristics that are not self-evident in today's dressage horse breeding.
Taurus also impresses with his beautiful world class dressage pedigree and is a sought-after stallion!
As a foal, Taurus already made headlines as the top prize in 2017 at the elite foal auction in Borculo, at this time under the name Make My Day.
The father of Taurus, Glock's Toto Jr. was the first approved son of the legendary Totilas. Toto Jr., ridden by Edward Gal, is very successful in the sport and is well equipped for following in his father's footsteps. In the spring of 2014 he won the performance test in Ermelo and in the following years he also won the Pavo Cup for the five and six year old dressage horses. In his first year in the Heavy Tour, Toto Jr. became last years Dutch Champion under Edward Gal.
The dam sire of Taurus, Apache was one of the most successful sires of the KWPN and had a successful sport career. Under Emmelie Scholtens he was included in the Olympic team, after their winning International Grand Prix debut in 2015. In 2018 Apache was part of the Dutch Dressage Team that was delegated to the World Equestrian Games in Tyron, in 2019 he achieved the best Dutch result during the World Cup Final in Gothenburg.
Grandsire Jetset-D, a son of the Grand Prix stallion Zircon and grandson of Le Mexico, convinced as a real all-round talent, both in the jumping ring and in the dressage arena. As a young horse he was very successful as a show jumper, later in life he was successful in dressage up to PSG/Inter I level under Susan de Klein.
The dam line of Taurus (Mare line 89, breeding family 44) is characterised by numerous sport horses. Dam Garonette was seventh as a foal in the KWPN Championship ring (2011). Under the saddle, Garonette was successful up to and including Z2 dressage, and the mares have also been successful in the sport further down the tribe. Grandmother Naronette has ten successful offspring, including Viaronette (s. Krack C) - PSG/Inter I and Sunny Side Up (s. Jazz) - ZZZ. Onedin M (by Rohdiamant) - Grand Prix and Varonette (by Gribaldi) - PSG/Inter I are half-siblings of Naronette.
