Grey Tonic first drew attention as a top lot at the PS-Youngster Auction, before dazzling as a celebrated premium stallion and crowd favourite at the Redefin Stallion Licensing. In 2025, he lived up to all expectations by convincingly winning his short performance test in Verden, achieving top scores of up to 9.20. Tonic impresses with his exceptional quality of movement, characterised by maximum shoulder freedom and a clear uphill tendency. His generous canter is particularly noteworthy and strongly reminiscent of his influential maternal grandsire Secret.

His sire, Grey Flanell, a direct son of Gribaldi, impressed from the start. He became Hauptprämiensieger in Oldenburg, was the best four-year-old in the Pavo Cup, finalist in the Louisdor-Preis, winner of national Grand Prix competitions, and a successful competitor in World Cup events. Despite a relatively short breeding career, he has already produced over ten licensed sons and a remarkable number of Grand Prix horses, including George Clooney, Gremlin, and Gentleman.

The dam, Secret Zone PS, produced the premium stallion Exakt PS (by Escanto) in 2025 at Redefin, and carries the blood of three-time World Champion Sezuan through her sire Secret. Secret herself was a winner of the performance test, vice-Bundeschampion, second at the World Championships for five-year-olds, and competed successfully in the six-year-old Bundeschampionat.

Granddam Zantana RS2 OLD was sold at four years old through the P.S.I. auction for €955,000 and has since competed successfully up to Grand Prix level under Marieke van der Putten. She is also the dam of three licensed sons, including the former Champion Stallion Fürst Zonik PS and Debutant PS OLD, Oldenburg Champion and Bundeschampionat finalist.

Great-granddam Sondra was named Mare of the Year 2025 in Oldenburg. She produced several licensed stallions, including Glock’s Total U.S., Dante U.S., Mister U.S., and Lamborghini U.S., as well as multiple successful sport horses up to Grand Prix level. Great-great-granddam Contana produced, in combination with Sandro Hit, the licensed and Grand Prix-level successful Swagman. Her daughter Viva Contana PS (by Vivaldi) is the dam of the licensed stallion Extreme U.S.

Grey Tonic descends from a carefully cultivated dam line by Paul Schockemöhle, renowned for producing Grand Prix horses and influential stallions. A maternal line of absolute world-class quality.
