Volbeat already stood out as a foal and immediately impressed at the Westfälische Online Auction, where he became a top lot thanks to his excellent conformation and striking movements. His model and harmony in his gaits also caught the attention of the stallion inspection committee of the Westphalian Verband, which approved him as a promising young talent.

Volbeat is a son of Vaderland OLD, reserve champion of the Westphalian stallion inspection. The impressive Vitalis son earned the OLD suffix for his outstanding sport performance and was shortly thereafter honored as VTV Stallion of the Year in Oldenburg. With a sire that has Grand Prix potential, Volbeat already brings strong sport genes to the table.

His dam, Francine B by Fidertanz, received a 1B-premium at the Elitenschau in Wickrath and is a full sister to Flanagan, former champion stallion of the Westphalian main inspection and successful at the international Grand Prix level. The second dam, Reverie (Rubiloh x Ehrentusch), produced the For Romance son and premium stallion For Dance, Grand Prix horse First Famous, and Lichte Tour stallion First Choice B. Francine’s sister, For Silence, also produced the approved stallion Veni Vidi Vici (v. Vaderland OLD). This combination of top sires on both the sire’s and dam’s side makes Volbeat exceptionally interesting both genetically and sport-wise.

Under the saddle of Dinja van Liere, Volbeat is developing into a talented sport horse. He shows a willing character, great suppleness and balance, with a natural ability for collection and a powerful, carrying hind leg.
